A celebration of outstanding achievement and performances by people of color in music, television, film, literature, and promoting social justice, the “44th NAACP Image Awards” were broadcast on February 1, 2013. The Two-Hour Live event was hosted by comedy great Steve Harvey. Acting legend Sydney Portier’s moving Life Time Achievement Award presentation to fellow legend Harry Belafonte was the evening’s keynote moment.
